- • The Endo/Gynae Diploma of German and Egyptian Societies (EDGES) programme is a structured educational programme for Gynaecological Endoscopy. It trains and certifies knowledge and practical skills prior to surgical competence. It is the official diploma programme of MISSE.
What is EDGES?
- • EDGES provides a complete approach to endoscopic education. It consists of three distinct modules each providing a blend of theoretical and surgical skills required by a competent endoscopic surgeon.

Duration
- - Full academic year (42 weeks)
- - Three modules of equal duration
Attendance
- - Module 1 & 2: weekly (alternating weeks onsite in Egypt/online from Germany)
- - Module 3: completed logbook with MISSE Clinical Supervisor or two weeks clinical training in Germany
Attendance Requirements & Exam Eligibility
- Module 1 & 2: Minimum 80% attendance required.
- Module 3: (Germany): Full attendance is mandatory. (Egypt): Completion of the full logbook is required.
Assessment & Passing Criteria
- Module 1: 90 marks (MCQs & SAQs) – Pass: 80%
- Module 2: 120 marks (MCQs & SAQs) – Pass: 80%
- Module 3: 290 marks total (240 marks "MCQs & SAQs" – Pass: 80% & 50 marks "Practical Assessment" & LASTT, HYSTT, SUTT – Pass/Fail)
Eligibility
- Open exclusively to specialists and consultants in obstetrics & gynaecology
- Residents and practitioners from other specialities are not eligible to apply
- Clinical Diploma/Master’s degree/MD in obstetrics & gynaecology from a recognized university
- Valid registration in the medical council/syndicate of the country in which they practice

- Module 1 : 74 hours
- Module 2 : 102 hours
- Module 3 : 124 hours
- Total: 300 hours
